KAVALIR

Ljubljana still has its gentlemen.

ABOUT THE KAVALIR

The Slovene word Kavalir means gentleman in English. Kavalir vehicles provide transport for elderly visitors and anyone having difficulty walking in pedestrian areas inside the ecological zone and on streets with traffic restrictions. Watch the video shot with our Kavalirs.

FREE-OF-CHARGE AROUND THE CITY CENTRE

Electric Kavalirs have been contributing to Ljubljana's friendly image since 2008. Due to rising passenger demand, in September 2013 we added to the fleet of two open Kavalirs a third, closed vehicle adapted to transport people with disabilities. In 2015 we replaced one open Kavalir and bought one new, closed vehicle. Daily 3 Kavalirs are operating in the city centre.

EVEN MORE PASSENGERS

In 2015 we bought another closed Kavalir, meaning we can transport an additional 216,000 passengers. Using the Kavalirs will remain free of charge.

EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK AWARD

Introduction of the first closed Kavalir was one of the sustainable measures for European Mobility Week 2013, for which the City of Ljubljana won a European Mobility Week award, thus becoming the only city to win this award twice.

NO NOISE FROM THE KAVALIRS

Access to all the important places in the ecological zone is provided by fiver Kavalirs running on electric batteries. Five people can use a Kavalir at the same time and their low speed means they can stop frequently.
