Also run on natural gas. For a cleaner Ljubljana.
Regular updating of Ljubljana’s bus fleet, the introduction of new and optimized bus routes and the installation at bus stops of modern real-time displays showing scheduled bus arrivals are just some of the many reasons that, according to Eurobarometer research at the end of 2012, 78% of residents of Ljubljana expressed satisfaction with the quality of public transport in the city.
Modernisation of the city bus fleet in the last six years has significantly contributed to the comfort of travel on city buses and simultaneously improved the health of our living environment. In this period we have bought a hundred new environmentally friendly buses that meet the highest European standards. Our fleet of 221 city buses has 17% CNG buses with zero emissions of particulates harmful to human health.
In 2016 we bought 38 buses which meet the highest European standards and are adapted for people with disabilities. Along with buying the buses we have also bought an electric-powered tourist train named Urban which rides between the city centre and Ljubljana Castle (Ljubljanski grad).
Ljubljana Passenger Transport provides safe, reliable and comfortable public transport in the City of Ljubljana and across 16 neighbouring local authorities in the Central Slovenia Region. The total fleet of 285 buses carries more than 200,000 people a day. Modern and environmentally friendly low-floor buses are tracked from the LPP control centre using a satellite vehicle tracking system.
