The Cyanometer installation, which stands in the heart of Ljubljana, is a tribute to the original cyanometer. The central part of the monolith forms a de Saussure coloured circle, composed of 53 shades of blue from the lightest to the darkest, which we can use to compare with the current blueness of the sky. Its simple design returns us to direct contact with the environment and reminds us of humanity’s connections to nature. In addition to the state of air quality in Ljubljana, the cyanometer shows the main pollutants and visitors will be able to measure the blueness of the sky on a colour scale.
