The Ljubljana Dragon has got company
Flora the Dragon is already fascinating the youngest.
Lovely Flora the Dragon has become the official mascot of Ljubljana – European Green Capital 2016, and will represent Ljubljana throughout 2016 as the holder of the title. The Ljubljana Dragon is a firmly established mascot of the city and always represents Ljubljana recognisably both at home and especially abroad. At the same time the dragon – and its many depictions around the city – is an ever more recognised symbol of Ljubljana.
Thus the decision to make a dragon the official mascot of the European Green Capital was a very easy one. The name Flora supports the green concept and flowers and therefore communicates everything that is green. In addition, she being female makes the dragons a pair.
