HOMELAND OF THE URBAN BEE
Exhibition of students' work
Ljubljana Bee Trail (http://www.ljubljana.si/cebelja-pot) was designed in 2015 and is one of the projects which is being carried out under the umbrella of the European Green Capital 2016. In recent times we have noticed an increased interest in beekeeping in urban areas. To manage the situation in this area as well as possible and to achieve harmony between bees and people, at the Rural Development Section of the City of Ljubljana's Environmental Protection Department we have drawn up recommendations for setting up beehives on land owned by the City of Ljubljana and in other places. The content follows form. The urban space has its rules and outstanding partnership was achieved between the City of Ljubljana and the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ljubljana. The proposals by students that you can see draw upon tradition and follow all of the necessary principles dictated by beekeeping. We are sure that they will enrich the urban space.
The exhibition is supported by BTC City as part of the Mission: Green project.
Exhibition of students' work will be on show at the Point. For you info centre until 17 July 2016.
