Cyclists shaped the city
Contributed more than 20,000 km of energy for better cycling infrastructure in Ljubljana.
It is responsible and necessary to find your place and role in the city where you live in. All changes we do today, will be seen tomorrow. In September, when the world celebrates International mobility week, Heineken encouraged citizens of Ljubljana to cycle more - not only because of cleaner environment and a more active lifestyle, but because it’s cool to live with your city and shape it.
With all shared km and energy Heineken will help Ljubljana to improve cycling infrastructure.
Every city has its own story. It’s like blank canvas calling for the activation and creation.
Heineken’s initiative #mestokolesari was inviting cyclists to use special city mobile app to count their kilometres and contribute their energy for building new bike lanes. The feedback was excellent! Citizens were given the opportunity to influence which changes will be made in their city. The bikers contributed more than 20,000 km during the project and they are still cycling with the mobile app.
With all shared km and energy Heineken will help Ljubljana to improve cycling infrastructure. The streets that will get new bike lanes are sections between Resljeva street and Petkovškovo nabrežje, Bohoričeva street, Malenškova street and bicycle path on Zaloška road, on a section between Street of 30 August and Rosna street.
With Heineken initiative we have proven ourselves that we can make good stories together and we can shape the city. Ljubljana is not just a Green Capital of Europe 2016, but has also become “bike friendly” capital.
Thank you for sharing your energy with us!
